 A new left wing alliance is offering real challenge in the coming election.
The United left Allaince has been formed by People Before Profit, Socialist Party and Workers and Unemployed Action Group (South Tippereary).
The United left Alliance has one MEP, Joe Higgins, and several local councillors, including Richard Boyd Barret. It hopes to elect a number of deputies to the Dail and form a coherent political group.
